Equuleus is the fist boat in our fleet. A CL-16 she was built by CL-Boatworks in Canada in 1984. A double chinned clone of the renowned Wayfarer.

So we did we decide on the CL-16?

Every book on sailing I have read suggests starting with a boat which is raced in your local yachting club. Unfortunately, she no longer has a one-disgn class that races but the price was right, and more importantly the weight was right. We towed her around with a mini-cooper so her weight at. 350 lbs. was perfect.
After we moved from Columbus, OH to Rochester,NY and got the big boat we converted Equuleus to a canal cruiser. She currently is docked on the Erie Canal and we use her to motor to local restaurants and bars as well as the occasional shopping trip
