Equus Luna is our big boat. She's a Southern Cross 35, built by the Bristol-Ryder Boatworks in 1984. She is Hull number 15 of 90.

The Southern Cross is a bluewater canoe stern double ender designed for comfort while plodding the world's oceans. Her prior owner crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice and we purchased her in 2019 and shipped her from Anapolis, Maryland to Rochester. Over the past 5 years we have done substantial restorations including new sails, hull work, new feathering propeller, a redo of electrical system and safety-equipment as well as cosmetic changes.

Equus Luna is rigged as a club-footed Cutter. This means she carries three sails under normal operation. Typically a jib, a staysail and a mainsail. The mainsail and staysail are connected to long horizontal sticks called booms.
